"We feel that our rehabilitation department is able to offer higher quality inpatient rehabilitation services than most nursing homes because we have a hospital-based skilled care unit. In addition, the Critical Access Hospital designation allows us to spend more time with each individual patient and allocate more resources.
Also, our average inpatient length of stay time is half of what a patient would average at a nursing home based skilled care unit. This means we can get a patient healthier and back home quicker." - Peter Becerra
Skilled patients are seen six days a week, Monday through Saturday. We have licensed therapists on the premises during regular business hours and therapy is provided by the licensed staff, rather than on-the-job trained individuals.
Our Occupational Therapists specialize in upper extremity rehabilitation, wheelchair prescription, and rehabilitation of activities of daily living. They often visits the patients' home prior to their discharge and make a functional assessment of any modifications or adaptations needed for safety and functionality.
