MCH Specialty Clinic Welcomes Dr. Tom Kao

MCH is pleased to announce Tom Kao, D.C. will begin practicing chiropractic and acupuncture services at the MCH Specialty Clinic beginning December 8^th, 2011.  Dr. Kao has over fifteen years of experience, serving the communities of Fulton, Savanna and Clinton, IA. 

Appointments can be scheduled for Dr. Kao by reaching him at (815) 589-4616.  His office hours will be 9 am - noon, 1 - 5 pm.  Initially, he will be available to patients on Thursdays at the MCH Specialty Clinic.  The newly renovated specialty clinic is located on the second floor of the Morrison Community Hospital.  He will also maintain the same office hours at his Fulton, IL practice on Fridays.

“Dr. Kao recently completed a six week rotation at the MCH Family Clinic where he followed Dr. Duncan Dinkha and Dr. Denice Smith.  He really enjoyed the experience and is excited about the opportunity to serve the Morrison community.  His vast medical knowledge, passion to help patients and range of services will prove to be a great benefit to his patients and the community,” said Chad Haskell, Director of Communications.

Dr Kao has a desire to broaden his medical knowledge for the benefit of his patients, which is evident by his continued education.  Currently, Dr. Kao is pursuing his M.D. at the Windsor School of Medicine and a Masters Degree at the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL.  “I wanted to learn more about the medical practice because I have had patients with medical concerns that I was unable to address.  This education will assist me in areas where I’m deficient and provide me with more medical knowledge.  My patients will benefit because they will have the ability to choose what comprehensive health plan is most appropriate for them,” said Dr. Kao.

Dr Kao’s previous community involvement includes a past presidency of Rotary as well as a Moose Club membership.  While in Savanna, IL he started a local fund for the sports program.  He is also a member of the Illinois Chiropractic Society and American Medical Association for Students.

“I grew up in the Midwest and enjoy the people here.  I lived in Waterloo, IA until I was 10 years old and then graduated from Bettendorf High School.  I’m excited to be in Morrison because it is a small community and you really get to know the patients.  Also, my wife, Mrs. Tiffany Kao, works at the Morrison High School, so I am very familiar with the area,” said Dr. Kao.
