Morrison Community Hospital announced the winners of the coloring contest for Northside School and the “name the newsletter” contest for Southside School. The coloring contest was in correlation with National Nutrition Month and sponsored by the MCH Dietary Department. All coloring contest entries were posted within the hospital for visitors and staff to view. The winners of the contests were:
Pre-K, Thomas Schlafer
Kindergarten, Lexi Tichler
1st Grade, Gracen Harmon
2nd Grade, Emily Szabo
The winner of the “name the newsletter” contest was Sarah Crebo, a 4th grader at Southside.
Here is Sarah Crebo’s entry:
“My mom has a lotion bottle and I saw the word “inspire” on it. I asked my mom what the word meant, I looked it up. It means to influence, communicate, or to stimulate to some creative or effective effort. I came up with the word “inspire.”
“We didn’t want to simply pick a name for the newsletter and not have any reason behind the decision. So, we thought that it would be exciting to have local students pick the name for us and it worked out wonderfully! Sarah’s entry was chosen for its creativity and because we thought the name she chose represented the hospital well. We know that the hospital will “inspire” the community with our growth and everyday our staff is “inspired” by the patients that we serve,” said Chad Haskell, Director of Communications & Fund Development. “MCH would like to Congratulate Sarah and thank her for naming the hospital newsletter!”
The community newsletter will inform the community about health news, providers/doctors, staff, financials, new services, education, events, and other hospital topics. It will act as the hospitals direct line of communication to the community. The newsletter will also feature testimonials from local people. “It is an honor when grateful patients ask to share their personal story with others. We are changing lives by providing compassionate and professional care,” said Chad.
The contest winners were personally congratulated by MCH staff members and presented prizes for their creative efforts. MCH would like to thank the schools for allowing them the opportunity to get the students involved in the contests. Community involvement is an important aspect of the hospitals mission.
