MCH Auxiliary Donates New Items to Benefit Patients at the Hospital

For over fifty years the Morrison Community Hospital Auxiliary has positively impacted the hospital, patients, and students in the Morrison community.  These selfless volunteers have spent countless hours aiding patients and raising funds to benefit others.  The money gathered usually goes into a scholarship fund for local students or towards new equipment purchases for MCH. 

The MCH Auxiliaries newest act of generosity was a donation to the Four Season’s Living Center and the Dietary Department at the Morrison Community Hospital.  The items included a specialty wheelchair scale for the residents at the Four Season’s Living Center, new cutlery, a cash register, and stainless steel air pots for the Dietary Department.  The total purchase was valued at over $2,500. 

“We are so thankful for the donation of the air pots and other items.  The new air pots will be used in our cafeteria and kitchen to keep our beverages at the proper temperatures.  They are also much simpler and safer for our residents to use,” said Dody Ogburn, Director of Dietary Services.

“The Four Seasons Living Center would also like to thank the auxiliary for the new wheelchair scale.  We will now be able to weigh all of our residents on one scale and eliminate the need to transport them to another floor,” said Sherry Kok, Director of Nursing at the Four Season’s Living Center.  “It will also ensure more accurate weights, which is critical in planning and monitoring their care.  Thanks again for this wonderful gift!”

The MCH Auxiliary has made numerous contributions to the hospital throughout its rich history.  Some recent donations that were made to the hospital were for the Four Season's Living Center sunroom addition, the new automatic doors entering into the hospital's emergency room, automatic doors entering into the front lobby, and dishes for the dietary department.
