The MCH Board of Directors is proud to announce that Kent Jorgensen has been named to the position of CEO for Morrison Community Hospital. Since February of this year, Kent has served as Interim CEO for the Morrison, IL critical access hospital. Kent brings more than 30 years of experience in health care administration, serving Mercy Medical Center in Clinton as the Vice President of Aging Services for 21 years and prior to that, as Administrator for Colonial Manor in various Iowa locations. At Mercy, he provided leadership for a wide range of service lines including Mercy Living Centers, Rehabilitation Services, Nutrition Services, and programs for senior health and wellness. Under his leadership, Mercy Living Centers initiated and achieved the Eden Alternative certification, a person-centered care model, and have consistently placed in the top deciles in patient satisfaction scores. The Living Centers have also recently been awarded the Iowa Health Care Association “5 Star Award” and American Health Care Associations “Bronze Award.” Don Beswick, Board Chairman, said, “On behalf of the Board of Morrison Community Hospital, I would like to take this opportunity to give a warm welcome to our new CEO, Mr. Kent Jorgensen. Kent comes to us with a wealth of health care experience, perhaps best illustrated by his many achievements and awards in the long term care field. As Kent’s pursuit of continuing education has served him well in the past, I am sure that he will continue to seek out the best possible practices and strategies to keep Morrison Community Hospital on our current path of continual improvement and service to our entire hospital district and surrounding area.” Kent’s commitment to learning led him to pursue a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Des Moines University, with advanced credentialing from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and preceptorship with the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. He serves as a fellow for the American College of Health Care Administrators and is an active member of the American College of Health Care Executives. Additionally, he lends his leadership to Iowa Health Care Association serving on the board of directors and is president-elect for 2012. With strong, guiding values in family and faith, Kent is active with his church and volunteers for many community interests. “The Board, Administrative Team, and staff look forward to working with Kent in building the necessary health care community relationships, to expand our services and achieve our current mission and future goals.
