Morrison Community Hospital has announced a new visitor policy to take additional precautions to protect patients from respiratory and flu-like illness. The policy, which follows recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), is effective immediately and will remain in effect until further notice:
Flu Season Visitor Policy:
• Visitors with cold or flu - like symptoms, or have recently had symptoms of a cold and / or flu, are asked to refrain from visiting patients and residents at Morrison Community Hospital and the Four Seasons Living Center.
• Children under the age of 18 are asked not to visit patient care areas, unless they are parents of a patient.
“The flu season is here and spreading rapidly. In order to maintain the safety and health of our patients and residents, we will be implementing this revised visitor policy,” said John Perushek, CEO of Morrison Community Hospital.
This policy is consistent with restrictions placed by hospitals in the region and nationwide. For more information about H1N1 flu or seasonal flu, please visit the Centers for Disease Control at www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu.
